Bill Fay Sr started Faytex Corp.in 1978. Within two years, he brought his first innovative product to North America's footwear, apparel and equipment markets. His first important fabric was Cambrelle, which offered uncommon breathable comfort and became an instant success. In quick succession, Faytex Corp introduced Dri-Lex in 1988, followed closely by the patented Dri-Lex Aerospacer line in 1989.
When Bill brought Dri-Lex fabrics to market in 1988, it was the first synthetic moisture management system for footwear. Today, there are many competitors, but only one 'Original.'. Currently, more than 40 Dri-Lex fabrics are being used by most of the top footwear brands in the world.
In 2007, the company introduced its first environmentally friendly fabrics under the Dri-Lex Eco Collection banner. By adding recycled nylons and polyesters to Dri-Lex fabrics over time, as well as a new line of sustainable fabrics featuring DuPont Sorona in 2010, Faytex Corp. is now able to claim the most complete line of verifiable, eco-friendly fabrics in the shoe industry.
In 2012, the company's pace of introducing new products picked up with close to a dozen new fabrics, many of them featured here. To view sample swatches see our Fabric Books Page.
